Terms of Service

Commish is pool-management software. We provide tools for organizing sports pick’em pools: collecting picks, applying scoring rules, and displaying standings. That is the entire service. Commish is not a gambling service, a wagering platform, or a payment service of any kind.

Commish does not collect entry fees, hold or manage a pot, calculate prizes, or transfer money between players — and has no feature that could. Whether a pool plays for money, bragging rights, or nothing at all is invisible to us and irrelevant to the service: our price is identical either way.

If members of a pool choose to play for something, that arrangement is theirs alone, made and settled entirely outside Commish. We are not a party to it, we do not facilitate it, and we expressly disclaim any involvement in, or responsibility for, any wager, entry fee, prize, or settlement between pool members.

The person who creates a pool (the commissioner) is responsible for how that pool is run — including ensuring that whatever their pool does complies with the laws that apply to its members. Laws about pools and contests vary by jurisdiction; if you are unsure whether your pool’s arrangement is lawful where you are, do not run it, or get advice from someone qualified to give it.

Paid tiers are a flat, one-time fee per pool for a single season, priced by roster size and by nothing else. There is no subscription and no auto-renewal. The fee is for software; it is not an entry fee, a stake, or a buy-in, and it does not entitle anyone to a prize.

Payments are processed by Stripe. All sales are final. An upgrade takes effect immediately and lasts for the season it was bought for; there is no downgrade, no partial-season credit, and no refund. If you upgrade the same pool again within a season, everything you have already paid for that pool is credited against the higher tier — you never pay for the same season twice.

Paid plans are sold only in the United States. Prices are in US dollars and any applicable sales tax is added at checkout. We do not sell paid plans to customers outside the United States, and we may decline a purchase that appears to originate elsewhere. Free pools are available wherever the service is reachable.

You sign in with an email address and are responsible for what happens under your account. Do not use Commish to break the law, to harass people, to probe or disrupt the service, or to misrepresent who you are. We may suspend accounts or pools that do.

We store what the service needs to run: your email address, display name, pools, and picks. We do not sell it. Commissioners can see the email addresses of their pool’s members; that is what lets them run the pool. The Privacy Policy has the full picture, including sign-in with Google, analytics, and error reporting.

We work hard to keep scores and standings correct, but the service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Sports data comes from third-party feeds and can be wrong or late; commissioners can correct results by hand.

To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the season in which the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and we are never liable for anything pool members owe each other.

You can stop using Commish at any time. We may suspend or end the service for accounts that violate these terms. Sections 2, 3, 7, and 8 survive termination.

We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do. Material changes will be flagged in the product. Continuing to use Commish after a change means you accept it.
